David Walliams dropped by publishing house.
Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
He has published in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
