Barcelona Ready for First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
